What You'll Learn:
Loss weaves into more stories than we realize. Whether it’s past, present, or quietly carried into pregnancy or postpartum, your care matters. This training is here to help you meet it with confidence, presence, and heart.
You’ll walk away with tools to:
- Understand the different types of perinatal loss and the physical aspects of each
- Explore the emotional impact of grief on individuals and families
- Communicate with compassion while reducing the risk of added harm
- Offer practical support in both hospital and home settings — before, during, and after a loss
- Facilitate memory making, legacy building, and ways families can honor their baby
- Support clients through pregnancy after loss, holding space for both hope and fear
Created and led by an experienced bereavement educator and birth worker, this in-person session is grounded in both lived experience and clinical insight.

Meet Your Instructor:
Ashley Inclima
Owner of Tides of Life Doula & Perinatal Bereavement Services LLC
In 2011, Ashley experienced the loss of her son Adrian through TFMR following a fatal diagnosis, followed by an early pregnancy loss three months later. She found hope and resilience through community and eventually welcomed healthy identical twin daughters. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the complex challenges of pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss.
With over a decade of experience in women’s health, Ashley has served as a Medical Assistant in OB/GYN offices, OB Technician, Perinatal Loss Coordinator, Licensed Survivor Mom Companion Tutor, Certified Grief Educator, and practicing birth and bereavement doula.
Both personally and professionally, she witnessed the profound lack of support and advocacy for families facing loss. Tides of Life was born from a mission to change that. Ashley believes no one should have to navigate loss alone — and by equipping more professionals to hold space for grief, we create ripples of healing that reach far beyond what we may ever see.

Who is this training for?Â
This in-person training is for birth workers and perinatal professionals who want to expand their skills, deepen their impact, and feel more confident supporting clients through pregnancy loss, grief, and pregnancy after loss.
You will encounter grief. Even if a loss doesn’t occur during your time with a client, you may support someone who is pregnant again after loss, parenting after loss, or navigating postpartum with complex emotions.
Most trainings leave a gap when it comes to perinatal bereavement. This experience helps you fill it, so you can show up with clarity, compassion, and confidence, while building deeper trust with the families you serve.
This training is for you if:
- You want to feel more prepared when a client experiences loss
- You support clients pregnant after loss and want to show up with more understanding
- You’ve avoided taking on loss clients because you weren’t sure how to help
- You want to grow your skillset and offer a higher level of care
- You’re committed to providing inclusive, heart-centered support for every outcome
You’re exactly who this was created for. The families you support deserve it.
What Doulas Are Saying
Here’s what past participants have shared about their experience with this training:
“Ashley provided so much helpful and valuable information for both myself as a doula and for my clients. Her insight, compassion, and passion to offer caring support to families is invaluable and should be a required component of training for all perinatal providers and doulas.”
“Ashley is very passionate about advocacy work for women in their birth processes. Her knowledge opens minds and hearts, and prepares those she teaches for the complicated task of loss.”Â
